Sidney Poitier who was the first black actor to win an Academy award has died at the age of 94 at his hom in Los Angeles. Mr. Poitier paved the way for thousands of actors and actresses of color to succeed in Hollywood, he also played a mayor role in the Civil Rights Movement.
